Birth Process (WARNING! SKIN AND BLOOD IN SOME OF THESE!) -May 6, 2009

For the first few hours of labor I was doing well and happier up and moving around, but it was awkward with all of the IVs and fluid leaking out. (4AM till about 1PM)

Once my labor intensified Bacon's heartbeat was dropping, so they had me on oxygen. (1-2PM)

Between pushes. (2-3PM)

He was presenting the side of his head (instead of the top)/ Dr. Bishop, tried to turn him and help him through my pelvis as I pushed, but every time I stopped pushing he would just go back in. We tried for about 40 minutes and nothing was changing, but Bacon's heartbeat dropped numerous times. They brought in forecepts, but couldn't get a safe grip on his head. She suggested a C-section before he was too far in the birth canal or before we needed an emergency C-section if his heart rate dropped and did not recover.
Being brave as they got us ready for the C-section. (about 3PM)

WARNING!!!-Blood in pictures below

Here I am ready to be induced!

Graceland with Mom & Norm - May 5, 2009

We went to Graceland for the day. I was hoping all the action and walking would work Bacon "down" or bring him since we were out and about. Here I am in Elvis' bar.Mom & Norm in the back yard. Horses roam in the pastures behind them.

This picture of Elvis is awesome!

His prayer garden, where he and his family members are now buried.

The house.

A view down the aisle in one of his airplanes.
I spent about as much time in the bathrooms at Graceland as in the exhibits, the pressure of the Bacon was just too much for me! I should have taken pictures in ALL the bathrooms. They were all decorated differently.

Bacon Week 40 (+4 days) May 3, 2009

This is crazy! I was still feeling good and just thankful for our health. I WAS stressed and just hoping Bacon would come on his own...

Water Aerobics @ Germantown Athletic Club- April 2009

Shallow Water
My friend, Jen (Jack's bosses wife) gave me a few passes to join her in working out at Germantown Athletic Club. I found Water Aerobics classes there, so we tried them out. They have been so much fun and I really enjoyed meeting so many people. Here I am chatting it up with Betty.

After going twice I was hooked, but it doesn't make sense for Jack and I to join a club right now b/c the Bacon will be too young for child care and we will be busy adjusting to life as parents, so when people asked if they'd see me the next week I had to say no. Before the end of the second class I went to, people were offering me their passes, too!

Here's Chris the lifeguard,
He and the other lifeguard, Brendan took these picturesfor me. Chris is always warning me "Don't have that baby in MY pool!" But then tells me he will take me to the hospital himself if anything starts happening.

Carolyn, (in the print suit with black sides in front of me) is not only the teacher, but the heart and soul of water aerobics. She knows everyone's names and encourages us the whole hour. She keeps up with everyone's health and spouses and gets cards for people when they or their spouse is not well. As you can imagine, this happens often in a group of older people this size.
Ray is a character. He spends most of the time talking!

Ray in action, again!

Carolyn and I laughing at my Bacon bump!!
The Crew!!
Then it's time for Deep Water!!

( They made me pose-silly-but it shows off the extremely fashinable floatation belt we wear!) There is Jen in the background with the black hair.

The ladies, except Jen is hidden behind Kay!! (That's why I pointed her out above.)
