Bacon Week 34 -March 22, 2009

Week 34
Only 2 more till he's "Full Term", but 6 more until I should deliver.

It shocks me that from some angles, people tell me I don't look pregnant, but I guess I can see it a little in this picture. A few weeks ago, I thought a lady behind me at Wal Mart was going to have a heart attack. She cried out "Oh, you're pregnant!" when I turned around. I guess it just shows how self-centered I am that I assume everyone notices right away!

Tonight I went to a prayer meeting at our church, (Central) to pray for Redemption 2009. It is a multicultural revival for the women of Memphis in hopes that the pain and separation of race will be healed and that women from all churches and of all races will unite under Jesus Christ. This is a truly radical thing in the city where Martin Luther King Jr. was murdered and race relations have been a constant struggle. If you read this , join me in praying for this free conference being held Friday, March 27 and almost all day Saturday March 28. If you are reading this after the event, pray that the words, actions and effects of those two days would continue to ripple and heal this city, our nation and the world.

While I was there, Bacon was dancing up a storm. I think he likes church already-probably because of the energy and excitement it stirs in me as well as the music and singing.

Bacon Week 33 - March 15, 2009- Also my Mom's Birthday!

Bacon says Happy Birthday Grandma Kate!!

This is what we wore to church, I wasn't sure how the southerners would react, but I didn't seem to offend anyone. I feel like I'm really getting big now!

Bacon Week 32 - March 8, 2009

Bacon Week 31 - March 1, 2009

This week I got to see Dr. Bishop (my OB GYN) for the 1st time. She said everything with Bacon was perfect .

Bacon and I also had a fun day at Cybil's house, having lunch with about 6 women from our neighborhood, but we didn't take any pictures. : (

More snow! - February 28-March 1 2009

It snowed again, and the flakes were huge-many sticking together.

By the end of the day there was quite a blanket going.
These two are our back yard.

This was the view out our front door.
It stuck for about 3 days and they canceled church.

Bacon Week 30 - February 24, 2009

We are at 30 weeks!!
Bacon is still VERY active, and I can feel him more because there is less room for him and amniotic fluid, so my body is not producing as much to cushion him anymore. Now I will feel hands and feet slide across the length of my belly as Bacon stretches and turns.

Here I am dressed to go and scrapbook at Central Church. I thought it would be cool for all of you to see what I look like in normal clothing. Little did I know that this same morning I would be scrap booking with my new OB GYN, who I had not met yet.

Inspiration for Bacon's Room

I found this little shirt at a consignment store and loved it. Jack and I are going to use it as inspiration for decorating the nursery. I love the blue with the cardinal red, olive and of course, ORANGE!

Bacon Week 29 - February 17, 2009

Bacon Week 28 - February 10, 2009

First Week in TN house -February 2009

Packing Paper soon became my nemesis. As we unpacked more things, the sheer volume of paper was overwhelming. I finally ended up making piles of flattened paper everywhere. I do have to admit that it worked. We had very few damaged or broken items, none of which were in packing paper!

Our neighbor, Cybil, brought us dinner one night and it was delicious! Fresh salad and bread with poppyseed chicken and apple pie for dessert!

One of our first improvements was putting in a programmable thermostat. Since we got one that laid flush with the wall, we needed to cut out the drywall behind it.

Bacon Week 27 - February 2, 2009

Our New House in Tennessee!

Here it is!! This is when we were considering it. The old owner's car is out front. Most of the pictures I posted are just after we cleaned, but before the movers came. If there's stuff in them, it's theirs. I am trying to put them in an order that makes a "tour".
As you enter the front door...green is the breakfast nook off the kitchen. If you were to take a few steps in and look back....arched doorway leads to the "dining room", which will be Bacon's hang out. The white door is a deep storage closet under the stairs.

View into the "dining room"

View from the "dining room" into entryway and kitchen.

Through the kitchen..this one's a little dark.

Kitchen-before they moved out. But here's the fridge we negotiated to keep.

The view from the breakfast nook into the family room.

Opposite view-Breakfast Nook from the family room.If you turn left after the stairs, there is a half bath and a long hall with laundry leading back to the garage.
If you continue toward the back of the house in that hall it opens into the Master.

The Master Bath. We are spoiled!
Closet and private toilet room on left, storage closet, sinks and tub on right.
If you go upstairs and left, you are looking into Bacon's bathroom and bedroom. Linen closet on right. (These are a few more before they moved out.)

Bacon's room used to be for lifting weights.
View into his small "walk-in" closet.

In the upstairs hall Bacon's room on right, bonus ahead.

I hope you can come in person to see it! As you can tell, we have room for guests!!
