Water Aerobics @ Germantown Athletic Club- April 2009

Shallow Water
My friend, Jen (Jack's bosses wife) gave me a few passes to join her in working out at Germantown Athletic Club. I found Water Aerobics classes there, so we tried them out. They have been so much fun and I really enjoyed meeting so many people. Here I am chatting it up with Betty.

After going twice I was hooked, but it doesn't make sense for Jack and I to join a club right now b/c the Bacon will be too young for child care and we will be busy adjusting to life as parents, so when people asked if they'd see me the next week I had to say no. Before the end of the second class I went to, people were offering me their passes, too!

Here's Chris the lifeguard,
He and the other lifeguard, Brendan took these picturesfor me. Chris is always warning me "Don't have that baby in MY pool!" But then tells me he will take me to the hospital himself if anything starts happening.

Carolyn, (in the print suit with black sides in front of me) is not only the teacher, but the heart and soul of water aerobics. She knows everyone's names and encourages us the whole hour. She keeps up with everyone's health and spouses and gets cards for people when they or their spouse is not well. As you can imagine, this happens often in a group of older people this size.
Ray is a character. He spends most of the time talking!

Ray in action, again!

Carolyn and I laughing at my Bacon bump!!
The Crew!!
Then it's time for Deep Water!!

( They made me pose-silly-but it shows off the extremely fashinable floatation belt we wear!) There is Jen in the background with the black hair.

The ladies, except Jen is hidden behind Kay!! (That's why I pointed her out above.)

Brunch with ServiceMaster Friends - April 5, 2009

The newest member of Jack's team at ServiceMaster is Raj. He and his wife Michelle and their adorable 1 year old hosted brunch for everyone on Sunday. Here are some of us in the backyard. Their new home has a beautiful pool. Here's the crew. On the left are Mark and Michelle, then Raj and Michelle, then Jack and I. All of thee gentlemen have the same position as Jack and they are a very tight team that collaborates and helps each other when needed. On the far right are his Boss Jim and his wife Jen who is expecting 2 weeks before us on April 18th. It is great to have such dynamic young families to hang out with and learn from. All of us have moved here within the last 6 months, so we have a lot in common in terms of life stages and experiences. PLus, it's great to have such intelligent and fun people to spend time with.

Bacon Week 35 - March 28, 2009

Modeling at the Baby Expo - March 28, 2009

Here I am in my first outfit - a bathing suit! This shot really shows off the Bacon!

My second outfit, they asked if I minded wearing an orange dress!!?
This dress was so soft, I loved it!

Here are a bunch of the Models and I. As you can see they have pretty cute stuff @ Pea in the Pod, and some of the girls were gorgeous! The one next to me in the black pants is a new friend of mine from our childbirth prep. class. She also works at my OB GYN's office and is really sweet.
Later that night we went to MOSA for dinner. Yummy!

This is outside MOSA #2, and also a good shot of Jack in his new glasses.

Here we are with Jim, as well as Mark and Michelle. They are our friends than own MOSA. Mark is a Director of Strategy at ServiceMaster with Jack, so they share the same role on the same team and work very closely together. He doesn't usually work at MOSA, but was helping cover a shift for someone who had surgery. Michelle works there almost all the time. She's one of my best friends here. Very smart and candid.
After dinner we went to show Candy and Jim Jack's office. Now you get a peek of it, too!

Candy and Jim visit Memphis - March 27-30, 2009

I finally got to paint Bacon's room!
Just two walls blue for his airplanes, and the other two will remain light khaki for now.

Here's one wall done, but still has the tape on the corner.
Here are Candy, Jim and Jack in downtown Memphis. You can see the Gibson guitar factory in the background also.
On Beale street.
