Our wonderful friends, the Zinks, live in Vancouver, WA.
I was able to go and visit them and enjoy their exceptional hospitality for a few days in honor of Tonia and Chelsea's birthdays. One evening we went to Portland and had a divine dinner at The Melting Pot, complete with chocolate Fondue for dessert! Then we went to see Avenue Q, a funny, but somewhat graphic live puppet theater production with fantastic music.Another day we went to Ape Caves and were able to go to Ape Caves, and navigate our way through some lava tubes. I think it was a 4 mile hike? It was pretty amazing!
At one point, Brandon and Chelsea came to an opening which we all assumed may be the continuation of the "trail". After some investigation (which Tonia and I did not participate in) it was determined that it was an ever narrowing passage which did not seem to "open" back up, and we found another way to go. Brandon and Chelsea emerged energized and thoroughly wet! It was very drippy in the caves in general due to snow melt and as you can see they were basically on their stomaches. It was awesome.
