AJW is signing! And other fun June memories

Baby Pool
Splashing in the pool on our front drive helps a lot when it is super-hot and humid!

We drove a few hours to a small town in Arkansas for a festival called "Portfest" because Blues Traveler was playing. Our hotel had a pool, so I made everyone go in. I think Abraham was the most on board.

Our babysitter, Caroline, was sweet enough to come with us.

Portfest Activities
Honest-to-goodness family fun. They had a huge mobile tank of local fish and amphibians, taxidermied critters as well as climbing walls and jump stations. In another tent they had a myriad of kid's activities and games like ring tosses, crafts and even a station where some of the Japanese community members wrote your child's name in Japanese symbols. All of the activities were free with the $5 admission. Then that night we left Abraham @ the hotel with Caroline and enjoyed Blue Traveler live. I even caught a drumstick!

Caroline & I jumping & flipping

Bram's first pony ride. He wasn't thrilled...

but overall, I think he liked it.
Friends to grow with
We have been growing in friendship with a family from our church. I met Whitney in MOPS and we have lot in common. Now we have been attending their Sunday School Class (like a Sunday AM small group). Their son, Grant is only a few months younger, and our boys get along SO well. Here are the boys in their backyard.

They have horse, so Abraham got to pet her.

Here are Abraham & Grant again, playing at their house another day with other kiddos from our Sunday School Class.
Splash Pad
Two local parks have splash pads. They are a real treat in the heat.
Another New Friend
Jack has a new co-worker who has a very fun family. We got to have their son for an afternoon while they were trying to unpack. He's adorable.

AJW signing!
I am having trouble uploading all the videos right now, but here is one. This one I was focusing on how he is chewing and becoming a more independent eater, but he does the sign for apple a few times.

San Diego, CA with Lala, Papa & Auntie Anne
It was pretty overcast the first couple days, but we went to the pool anyway.
We also went to the beach, but just to walk. Too cold for swimming, but we didn't mind.

"My Auntie is super cool"

"Why isn't she paying attention to me? I know, I'll try the old kick her in the head technique!"

We had fun playing on a seal statue.

Papa & Daddy played "toss the baby".

Another day, Jack had a meeting in La Jolla, so Annie and I went along and did some shopping and took a fun walk along the cliffs.

Lala & Papa's timeshare had a few fun playgrounds, 6 pools and two splash pads! There was always something fun to explore or do.

Wild Animal Park

My Auntie played a tongue game with me.

Splash pad @ the time share on a sunny day

Papa & Lala spoiled me with lots of new clothes and books. I loved reading them and was obsessed with Papa.

Abraham is a great little traveler. To pass time in the airport on the way home Jack walked him all around using a piece of fabric. We have been using it to help our backs and make Abraham balance himself a little more independently.

Ready for take off with the paci, Abraham diligently read the safety information card.

Another fun video. Abraham is very enthusiastic!
