We're Pregnant! - August 28 '08

We took our first pregnancy test, and the two lines popped up pretty quickly!

Jack and I are thrilled! Here's the proof:A few days, or maybe a week or so later we were discussing the future and getting giddy about the thought of a little one and our family growing and we decided we needed a Nick-name for our unborn child.

After about an hour of deliberation, including many suggestions like "Tickle" and "Bunny Pants" and many other more common and ridiculous, we settled on Bacon/Bakin'. In all following entries until a final name is chosen, I will refer to our little one as Bacon.

Green Valley First Grade 2008 - August '08

I taught First Grade again this year and was blessed with a very sweet and playful class. I need to add more pictures, but here are a few teasers:

In these two pictures show the kids are enjoying Free Choice on one of the first few days of school. Free Choice is a great activity because I get to watch the children interact and create. It also gives me a chance to talk to them and get to know them as individuals.

Fun with the Sullivans - August '08

One of my best friends has moved a little further away, so I don't get to see her and the kiddos as much as I used to. I had a chance to go over and see them before the school year started. We played, and swam in the pool and then the kids took naps while I caught up with my girlfriend. They are such an amazing family, full of new ideas and fun!

Visit with Carina and Heather - 8 '08

We had a great afternoon! My Step-sister, Heather, is a full time teacher and fantastic Mom so we have a lot in common. I love to go to their house and read books, chat and play. That day, while Carina was napping, we worked on a little scrap booking as well!

Gorgeous!

Peter & Gretchen's Wedding- San Francisco - August 12 '08

After a few chilly days and a foggy morning, the sun came out just in time for the ceremony.

The wedding was elegant, beautiful and very well-planned. Their friends helped with almost everything from the music to the flowers, chairs and cake. It was all exquisite b/c each element was crafted with so much love and talent.

Joseph played guitar as background music.Craig, the pastor. My brothers Peter and Josh. Pete's friend, Tony.
My nephews, the ring bearers, Nicholas and Stephen.

After the ceremony I captured this shot of them waiting for pictures down below. It shows how beautiful the park is.

Their reception was at Green's! If you go to SF you MUST go and eat there!

My nephew Liam and I as we socialize at the table.

Peter & Gretchen's Rehearsal- SF- August 11 '08

Here's my brother, Peter and his then-fiance, Gretchen.
I love this picture of them even though I zoomed in too much and cut Peter off.

Their wedding was performed in Sutro Heights Park, which has amazing trees and views of the ocean. It was pretty chilly and windy that day. You just don't think cold in August, but San Francisco weather is unpredictable! It was great to meet Gretchen's family members and see their friends.
